EDUCATION AND OUTREACH FUND APPEAL
The Gallipoli Association depends solely on membership subscriptions and occasional legacies for its income. While these funds cover basic operational costs, they are insufficient to support our expanding educational and outreach programmes.
To highlight one of our successful educational projects this year, here is an example of the impact of the Kingsbury Green Academy bursary school tour in July 2024:
“A parent summed up the trip for us when they wrote to me [the history teacher] ‘He has had the most amazing experience in Turkey. He is full of stories, amazing history facts, and a confidence that can only come from travelling, exploring, and meeting so many different people. As a family, we are beyond grateful that he was given this opportunity - so thank you, KGA and Gallipoli Association, for making this possible. This trip has created lifelong memories and opened his eyes to the devastating impact of conflict - thank you for all your hard work.’”
However, we have all felt the pressure of rising costs in our personal lives, and this also affects the Gallipoli Association. It costs around £1,000 to send a school pupil to Gallipoli, with schools/parents contributing 25% of that sum. To continue and grow our essential educational, study, and outreach programs, we need to raise
an additional £20,000 annually.
Achieving this goal is possible if, for example, 200 members each pledge £100 per year – but there is no upper limit! If you are a UK taxpayer, the Association can also benefit from Gift Aid, turning a £100 donation into £125 for the Gallipoli Association.
Your kind donations will directly support:
