SAFEGUARDING: The Designated Safeguarding Lead of the GA is normally the Education Co-ordinator. The DSL is currently Ian Binnie, who can be contacted via [email protected] or [email protected]. He can also be contacted on 07976485828.
The GA DSL will normally be the one to refer a concern to the appropriate authority. If a Trustee, officer or volunteer cannot contact him/her he/she should refer the matter to the appropriate council/local authority officer. Contact details can be found by searching on line. The GA DSL should participate in appropriate on line training.
Any Trustee, officer or volunteer of the GA who has significant contact with children or vulnerable adults should have an up to date DBS. Guidance on how to acquire one of these should be sought from the Trustees. Where one of the above is leading/participating in an activity in a setting where there are children and/or vulnerable adults, they should ensure that they comply with the requirements regarding DBS and visitors.
