On 14 May 2026, Thomas Iredale – Overseas Liaison Officer and Trustee of the Gallipoli Association – presented an original 1927 copy of Gallipoli – Bedeutung und Verlauf der Kämpfe 1915 by Hans Kannengiesser Pasha to Ms Sıdıka Yamaç, Historian at the Research Centre of the Gallipoli Historic Site Directorate in Çanakkale.

The Centre did not previously hold a copy. Thomas felt the book belonged somewhere it could be read and consulted by researchers, rather than on a private bookshelf.

Now in its third year, the Centre continues to support Gallipoli research from the peninsula itself. The Association reviewed it shortly after it opened:
