The GA's annual 'Walking Gallipoli' battlefield tour offers a series of walks covering the highlights of the campaign, conducted at a relaxed pace and with scope to visit spots not offered on other tour itineraries. We feel this tour offers the most comprehensive tour available to Gallipoli, as part of a like-minded intimate group to reach seldom visited spots via mule tracks, dried up gullies and quiet beaches. The distances are not excessive, our average day involves around 6 miles over undulating ground but at a pace to suit the needs of the group, if you have any concerns, please feel free to give us a call.

We now stay in a new 4* waterfront Canakkale hotel with well-equipped rooms: A/C, TV, en-suite bathrooms, bar facilities and restaurant. Bed and Breakfast basis, with packed or cafe lunches included. Evening meals are not included.

Sunday 2 May 2027 – Travel Day vis Turkish Airlines

Monday 3 May 2027 – Anzac Day

Our morning will be spent studying the Gaba Tepe with walks along the shore by Ari Burnu, Beach Cemetery, via Shrapnel Valley up to the heights of Plugges Plateau, the first ridge captured by the Anzac’s on 25 April 1915.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue the Anzac advance from the Second Ridge at Lone Pine, to the furthest advance of the Australian and New Zealand troops on that first day of the landing. Visiting Quinn's Post, the Chessboard, The Nek and Baby 700.

Tuesday 4 May 2027 – Helles Day

Beginning the morning on the top of Achi Baba, where we will experience panoramic views of the Helles battlefield, we will descend down to the beaches. Next stop is Erturgal Fort, trenches and the Ottoman memorial to Sgt Yahya, all overlooking V Beach. We will visit V Beach CWGC Cemetery, the spit of rock where the River Clyde came shore, all under the shadow of Seddulbahir Fort. We will then advance up through the village to Doughty-Wylie’s Grave, and then the Helles Memorial.

After lunch at V Beach Café, we will walk from Hunter-Weston Hill to Lancashire Landing CWGC Cemetery. From there we will visit W Beach to recount the story of the 6 VC’s Before Breakfast. Later in the day we will visit the Krithia frontline area, walking from Redoubt Cemetery to Twelve Tree Copse. With a visit to end the day at a local winery.

Wednesday 5 May 2027 – Gully Ravine Day

We will spend the whole day exploring Gully Ravine, starting at the Ottoman Nuri Yamut Memorial we will walk across the seaward cliffs to Gurkha Bluff, just above Y Beach. We will continue along Gully Spur, visiting Geoghegan’s Bluff and the football field for a packed lunch. We will then continue to follow the ravine to Gully Beach. Exiting the ravine we will walk along the West Krithia to finish the day at Pink Farm CWGC Cemetery.

Thursday 6 May 2027 –  North Anzac & Suvla Day

We will begin the morning on the top of Chunuk Bair and the Sari Bair Range before walking Rhododendron Ridge via The Farm, the recent devastating wildfires across this area have provided a unique opportunity to follow the trenchlines, dugouts and strongpoints for a short window before nature recovers the landscape

After a packed lunch at the museum in Buyuk Anafarta, we will visit the key areas of the Suvla Bay area including Suvla Point and General Stopford’s HQ, Green Hill and Hill 10 bringing our tour to a close. 

Friday 7 May 2027 – Return to Istanbul for return flight.
