Australia and Gallipoli

For many Australians, Gallipoli is the most important part of their history.  How did this happen?  Why should they identify with a military disaster?  Why do 10,000 Australians attend the Dawn Service in Gallipoli every year?  

In this interview, British historian Stephen Chambers talks about why Australians feel Gallipoli is so important.
