What happened to the dead?

Gallipoli is a beautiful place to visit and it’s hard to imagine it as a battlefield. Yet 145,000 men were killed there and most of them lie in cemeteries near the beaches and in the hills.  The cemeteries for the British and Commonwealth dead are beautifully kept by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, and here Keith Dolan, a frequent visitor to Gallipoli, describes how they were designed and how they are looked after today.
