YOUTH AMBASSADOR APPOINTED

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Sophie Haworth in the new role of Gallipoli Association Youth Ambassador. The role is to help the Trustees promote the Association to a younger audience, to garner greater interest and engagement with the Association and its aims. This role also involves promoting the charity’s mission, motivating donors, supporting events, and creating educational content to raise awareness among peers and the broader community. Part of the role will be to guide the Trustees on how to evolve the Association so that it can achieve these grand ideals.

Sophie Haworth is currently reading War Studies at King’s College London; the passion for such studies was ignited by the 2022 cadet bursary tour to the peninsula arranged and part funded by The Gallipoli Association. Growing up in the naval city of Portsmouth, she has been surrounded by rich military heritage, working in the Historic Dockyards where the last remaining ship from the campaign is housed. At school, she was Head Girl, led the Army contingent of their Combined Cadet Force, and was Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Hampshire in her final year. Since moving to London, she has been increasingly involved with the Association, addressing the 2024 Annual Conference and formally assuming the role of Youth Ambassador in April 2025.

We look forward to hearing more from Sophie in the coming months.
