On Friday 1st December 2023, I had the privilege of leading the dedication of Ash Lea School's Gallipoli mosaic. The school is in the village of Cotgrave in Nottinghamshire. The students had worked with a professional artist to produce the mosaic earlier in the year.

A group of students and staff laid wreaths and crosses in memory of six Gallipolians, representing the different nations who fought in the campaign. We were well supported by the local Royal British Legion. Prayers were said and the Last Post sounded. The two minutes silence was immaculately observed.

The mosaic has been installed in an outside area which the school plans to convert into a more general memorial garden.
