Looking to Volunteer? Two Fabulous Roles are now avaialble

With an expanding Gallipoli Association we are looking for new volunteers to help us achieve our charitable objectives. None of these roles are onerous, but all are very rewarding. If you are interested in finding out more please email secretary@gallipoli-association.org.

Role 1: JOB DESCRIPTION – Communications Officer

Responsible to: Board of Trustees through the Chairman.

Role:  Responsible for arranging the coherent and unified messaging of all Gallipoli Association communications in writing, audio, video, Social Media and on other platforms.

Main Tasks:

• Lead on Social Media activity.
• Oversight and managing of website content ensuring it is updated regularly.
• Planning and carrying out communications activities across all relevant online and offline channels.
• Developing an integrated communications strategy to raise awareness of the Gallipoli Association, its objectives, mission and values.
• Overseeing communications and publicity budget, ensuring optimal use and value for money.
• Producing publicity material – both print and electronic for events.
• Managing externally produced publicity material such as videos, photographs, publications and articles, ensuring that they adhere to the GA’s objectives, mission and values.
• Supporting the other Trustees
Skills and attributes required:
• An integral member of a small team of Trustees, who is able to work collaboratively within small groups, accepts compromise, retains flexibility and supports the decisions of the group.
• A sound knowledge of the Gallipoli Campaign and an understanding of the Association’s objectives and constitution.
• Well organised with good oral and written communication skills.
• Developed general IT skills, including email use and appropriate protocols.
• Patience and resilience in arranging and resolving Association matters.
• Time available to attend to these duties.
• Attend GA events where possible.

 

Role 2: JOB DESCRIPTION – EVENTS COORDINATOR & QUARTERMASTER

Responsible to: Board of Trustees through the Chairman.

Role:  Responsible for coordinating events organised by the Association, ensuring the timely issue of instructions and the detailed liaison with other parties to ensure the success of each event.  Some events are organised by the Secretary through mutual agreement.  Also responsible for the Quartermaster’s Stores. 

Main Tasks:
• Arranging the venue for Gallipoli Day Lunch/Reception and Autumn Lunch, and such other events as may be held, including ticketing and receipt of monies.
• Liaising with the Secretary, Web Author, Communications Advisor and other members of the Association to organise and publicise events.
• Ordering and sale of items in Quartermaster’s Stores, including a review of postal costs.
• Liaison with the Editor of The Gallipolian in relation to events, and items to be included in Quartermaster’s Stores.
• Liaison with the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary in respect of all the above matters.
Skills and attributes required:
